What is Matchfishing?
Matchfishing is an all-species fishing competition
typically held on the banks of rivers, lakes, ponds, or reservoirs.
The rules are simple:
1. One line
in water at a time.
2. No artificial bait. Natural baits only ( ie. Worms, Corn, Bee-moths,
Maggots, Leeches, Liver). No fish
or fish parts can be used as bait.
3. All fish
species count.
4. Most
total weight wins!
This simple format makes for exciting fishing. Species which are ignored in most fishing
competitions are welcomed in this event. (Such as catfish, bluegills, sunfish,
crappie, carp, suckers)
Many inventive techniques for catching fish have also
been developed in this sport including.

Men, Women, Juniors, Seniors,
and Disabled are all welcome to participate.
